Our family is heartbroken to share that Lakesha “Tootie” Newsom has passed away on March 27, 2026, after everything she endured following the devastating dog attack.
Lakesha fought as hard as she could.
She was more than what happened to her: she was a mother, a daughter, a sister, and someone who cared deeply for her children. She leaves behind three children: 11-year-old twins and a 13-year-old, who she loved very much.
Her children have been surrounded with love and care, and our family, especially their grandmother (who has been raising them) is committed to continuing that support. This loss is unimaginable, and our focus is on providing them with stability, comfort, and the resources they will need moving forward. This fundraiser is now dedicated to supporting Lakesha’s children: helping with their daily needs, emotional care, and long-term support as they navigate this heartbreaking transition. We are also raising funds for funeral costs so we can give Lakesha the peaceful farewell she deserves.
We are deeply grateful for the outpouring of love, prayers, and generosity that has been shown. Every share, every donation, and every kind word means more than we can express. Please continue to keep our family, especially her children, in your thoughts and prayers.
Thank you for helping us honor Lakesha’s life by caring for the ones she loved most.
