In August, my beautiful cousin Lacie welcomed her precious baby boy, Harrison into the world — a moment filled with love, excitement, and new beginnings.

What should have been a season of pure joy quickly turned into something no young family ever expects.

Just three months later, in November Lacie was diagnosed with a rare and fast growing cancer, myxoid liposarcoma.

Since then, life has been a whirlwind of appointments, scans, and specialist care. Lacie, her partner Ethan, and her mum Jess have been travelling every week from Ballarat to Melbourne to see her oncology team. Lacie has just undergone a lengthy surgery to remove as much of the tumor as possible. Lacies fight isn’t over yet and she still has a lengthy journey of treatments and recovery ahead of her.

Between hospital visits, recovery time, and caring for baby Harry, Lacie and her family have had to take significant time off work. The emotional toll is heavy enough — but the added financial strain of travel costs, medical expenses and lost income is making this incredibly difficult time even harder.

We’re hoping to ease that burden so Lacie can focus on what truly matters: healing, resting and spending precious time with her little boy.
