Our family is walking through something we never imagined we would face, and we’re asking for support during the most heartbreaking time of our lives.
After what seemed like a healthy and normal pregnancy, my sister Kyla received devastating news at 32 weeks that her baby has Trisomy 13, a rare and fatal chromosomal condition. Further testing confirmed severe complications, including major heart defects and developmental concerns that make survival outside the womb extremely unlikely. Most babies with this diagnosis either pass before birth or live only a short time after.
She is now faced with the unimaginable—planning for both her baby’s birth and saying goodbye at the same time.
In the coming weeks, she will be traveling to Denver for specialized care, including advanced imaging, consultations, and to create a delivery and care plan. This will likely require extended time away from home, time off work, and significant travel expenses. On top of that, we are preparing for the possibility of funeral and memorial costs.
While nothing can ease the pain of what we’re going through, any financial support will help relieve some of the added stress during this already overwhelming time. Donations will go toward:
Travel expenses to and from Denver for medical care
Lodging and meals during extended stays
Lost wages due to time away from work
Medical-related expenses
Funeral and memorial costs
If you’re not in a position to give, we completely understand. Your prayers, kind words, and support mean just as much to us.
Thank you for standing with us, for loving our family, and for keeping us in your thoughts during this incredibly difficult journey.
Updates will be available as they come.
