On December 30, 2025, my world was shattered. My son, Mehki Brooks, was taken from me due to senseless violence. He was more than just my child—he was my caregiver, my protector, my provider, and my best friend.
Mehki was a young man with dreams, drive, and determination. He worked hard and took pride in being responsible. Most importantly, he took care of me full-time as I battle multiple sclerosis. Because of my illness, I depend heavily on daily assistance, and Mehki stepped up without hesitation. He made sure I was safe, fed, transported to appointments, and never alone. He was my strength when mine was failing.
Now, I am grieving the loss of my son while also facing an uncertain future. I am sick and unable to work. I have lost not only my child but also my full-time caregiver and primary support system.
I am asking for help:
• Attorney fees to pursue justice for Mehki
• Legal costs associated with his case
• Ongoing medical and living expenses as I navigate life with multiple sclerosis without his support
• Basic survival needs during this incredibly difficult time
This is one of the hardest things I have ever had to do—ask for help. But I can't do this alone.
If you can't donate, please share this fundraiser. Every prayer, every dollar, and every share means more than you know.
Thank you for standing with me and helping me fight for justice for my son Mehki Brooks.
With love and gratitude,
Kizzy Brooks
