The day after Christmas, my little sister scheduled an MRI after many prompts from her mother and a colleague/friend (she is a mother/baby RN at Reid). After a year of daily headaches, she decided to check it off the list. What transpired was unthinkable. The doctors found a “giant” meningioma tumor with hyperostosis (abnormalities of the skull bone due to prolonged pressure).
That was Friday. By Saturday, she was admitted to Methodist in downtown Indy for an urgent craniotomy.
By the grace of God, the surgery went well, and she was able to go home on Monday evening! She has a long road to recovery, but we are hopeful God will restore her completely.
Kim is married to her high school sweetheart who is on the Wayne County Police Department and together they have five beautiful and thriving children. They lean heavily on their strong Christian values, and attend Milton Christian Church.
As you can imagine, as a working mom of 5, the world does not stop for such a surgery. By the kindness of so many already, the Riggs family have consistent meals covered for the next two months!
The real need now is financial. Medical bills, time off from work, bills that continue to come. We aren’t exactly sure how much the hospital bill will be, but we think any bit will help. It’s estimated at $300k… but we won’t know for a bit.
Would you prayerfully consider giving to this family in need? Any and all gifts will be deeply appreciated!
