Kelley Jordan has spent her life showing up for our kids, our school, and our community. Now, she needs us to show up for her.
My name is Marsha Kaslon, and I created this GoFundMe for Kelley Jordan.
Who is Kelley Jordan? Kelley is a mom, daughter, and band director who has brought music into the lives of our children and our community. She is the band director at Centura High School and has also taught in Pleasanton and St. Paul over the past 20 years, leaving a lasting mark on music programs across central Nebraska.
Kelley is the kind of teacher who shows up—for games, for parades, for competitions, and most importantly, for kids. She has brought an electric atmosphere to home games with pep band, added competitive energy to local marching parades, and welcomed students into all genres of music. She doesn’t just teach music—she builds confidence, creates belonging, and gives students something to be proud of.
Kelley is no stranger to cancer—she fought and won against Stage 4 breast cancer over five years ago and was enjoying life to the fullest. Last year, in September, Kelley was diagnosed with neuroendocrine liver cancer and has pursued multiple treatments in an effort to fight it. This time, however, the battle has been different. After exhausting treatment options, Kelley has made the incredibly difficult decision to medically retire from teaching.
The days are physically exhausting—aching joints, nausea, sensitivity to heat and cold, and days when she is simply too sick to come to school. The mental and emotional toll is just as heavy. No one should have to face a diagnosis like this while also worrying about medical bills and the uncertainty of what lies ahead—yet so many do.
Right now, the focus should be on Kelley—her comfort, her strength, and the time she has with the people she loves. It should not be on how to pay for treatments, travel, or everyday expenses—but that is the reality she is facing.
Travel costs, medical expenses, and daily living needs are quickly adding up. This is something no one can truly prepare for. The time ahead matters more than ever.
Kelley has given so much to her students, her school, and this community over the years. If she has ever made an impact on your life or your child’s life, we hope you’ll consider supporting her during this time.
Any donation, no matter the size, will make a meaningful difference right now. And if you are unable to give, sharing this page and keeping Kelley in your thoughts and prayers means more than you know.
Thank you for helping surround Kelley with the same care and support she has given to so many others.
