My daughter, Katie Underwood, is a dedicated preschool teacher who began experiencing pain in her abdomen and other concerning symptoms. At first, she hoped it would pass, but as the pain became overwhelming, she knew something more serious was happening. After seeing her primary doctor, she was referred to a GI specialist. On February 9th, a colonoscopy revealed a T4 cancerous mass, and an emergency MRI that night at USA Medical Center confirmed stage III squamous cell carcinoma, colorectal cancer.
Katie’s workplace has been supportive during this time, but the medical expenses from her treatments are still overwhelming. She faces significant costs for her colonoscopy, MRI, radiation, chemotherapy, PET scan, future PET scans, and port placement surgery.
Katie also travels daily to the Mitchell Cancer Institute for radiation and ongoing care. While her work has supported her, it isn’t enough to cover the mounting medical bills and daily expenses. The financial strain has added stress to an already exhausting journey.
We are asking for your support to help Katie through this difficult time. Any donation, big or small, will make a difference and help her focus on recovery instead of financial stress.
f you feel led to give, we are beyond grateful. If you are not able to donate, we humbly ask for your prayers. Please keep Katie in your thoughts as she continues to fight through this battle. Every prayer, every kind word, and every bit of encouragement lifts her up more than you know.
“The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.” — Exodus 14:14
Thank you for standing with Katie and our family.❤️
