Our family is reaching out during one of the most difficult moments we’ve ever faced. Our daughter/daughter-in-law, Katie Meisch Long, age 39, has recently been diagnosed with Stage 4 HER-2 positive breast cancer that has spread to her liver. This news has shaken all of us to the core, but we are holding tightly to hope. Her medical team is optimistic, and Katie will begin chemotherapy this week.

Katie is a devoted wife to Patrick and an incredible mother to their two young children, ages 2 and 6. As you can imagine, this diagnosis has turned their world upside down. With treatment beginning immediately, Katie hopes to be able continue working, but is unsure if she can due to treatments. Although Patrick has good insurance, it can only cover so much, and the financial strain of ongoing medical bills, childcare, and everyday expenses is already growing.

If you know Katie, you know her bright smile, her joyful laugh, her kindness, and the way she makes everyone around her feel loved. She has always been the first to show up for others, and now she needs her community to surround her with that same love and support.
