In August 2026, our family received news that Kash (33 years old) had been diagnosed with terminal Grade 4 Brain Cancer (Astrocytoma), with a prognosis of 12 months or less to live. Before this, Kash was simply living his life - working, looking after his family and raising his three young children with his wife, Manjit.
He has since undergone major brain surgery. However, a percentage of the tumour remains because of its difficult position within the brain. He is now undergoing a six-week course of radiotherapy and chemotherapy through the NHS.
We are grateful for the treatment Kash has received through the NHS. However, the NHS can only offer so much. Once his current treatment is complete, the options available to him become very limited.
Meanwhile, research and treatment approaches for cancer are developing rapidly around the world. Kash wants to explore every reasonable option available to him and give himself the best possible opportunity to be around for his family and look after them. There are innovative immunotherapy treatments and other emerging approaches that Kash could access following his NHS treatment.
Together, we are now having serious conversations with treatment centres in Germany and India, exploring personalised immunotherapy, dendritic-cell treatments and other emerging approaches.
These treatments are expensive. Depending on the treatment recommended, we are looking at costs of up to £200,000 or more.
That is why we are asking for your help.
Who is Kash?
Kash is a proud father to three young children and a devoted husband. He has always been someone who looks after others, helps wherever he can and rarely asks for support himself.
Kash has always been the person donating to other people's GoFundMe pages and helping others when they need it. He never imagined that one day he would find himself in the position of needing to ask for help himself, which is why setting up this page has been incredibly difficult for him.
He is incredibly positive, determined and refuses to let this diagnosis define him.
We want to give him the opportunity to explore treatments that are currently outside the NHS pathway and give him every reasonable chance of more time with his family.
Every penny will be accounted for
We want to be completely transparent about where the money goes.
Funds raised will only be used for genuine treatment-related costs, including medical consultations, treatment, travel, accommodation and other essential expenses connected to accessing treatment.
We will provide updates throughout the journey so people can see how the money is being used.
And Kash has made one thing very clear: if there is money remaining after his own treatment and essential costs, his main goal is to use it to help other people and families facing brain cancer or similar life-limiting conditions.
He doesn't want this experience to be only about himself. If he gets the opportunity to move forward, he wants to spend the rest of his life helping others who find themselves in the same position.
If you are able to donate, no matter how much, it could help Kash access options that would otherwise be out of reach.
If you cannot donate, sharing this page or keeping Kash and his family in your prayers means just as much.
I've spent my whole life raising funds for the betterment of society. Today, my appeal is personal because Kash is my son.
May Waheguru bless you and your families for your prayers, kindness, empathy and support.
Kash's Dad - Dr Amo Raju OBE DL
