Karen Jyssell is an extremely happy soul, full of life, love, and compassion. She is the kind of person who shows up for everyone, always listening, always supporting, and always caring deeply for the people around her. Karen has a light that lifts others, and her kindness has touched more lives than she could ever know. She is incredibly important to her family, her friends, and everyone who has been lucky enough to know her.

In a sudden and devastating moment, Karen was involved in a serious atv accident in Mexico. She had to have emergency surgery on her brain and skull to relieve all the swelling and pressure. She’s currently fighting with incredible strength to heal and recover. However due to this brain surgery she is in a medically induced coma and will not be able to fly back home anytime soon. Her family back home are not able to see her and are patiently waiting for her recovery. At the moment my mom and little brother are the only ones physically with my sister. It is just my older brother, my dad, and I back home waiting for her recovery. Waiting to hear updates via FaceTime or a phone call. As her sister it pains me knowing that I cannot possibly be there for her or let her know that I am here praying and doing everything I can for her, she is my everything and we all love her so much. The road ahead is long and challenging, but Karen continues to show the same courage and determination that defines who she is.

Our family is heartbroken, hopeful, and endlessly grateful for the love and support surrounding Karen. The outpouring of care has reminded us just how deeply she is loved and how much she means to so many people. This fundraiser is meant to help ease the financial burden of her medical care and recovery so she can focus fully on healing we don’t know what to expect for the costs but since it’s in another country from what we know we have to pay all out of pocket for her hospital bills and we don’t know what else she will need as of now.

Es el tipo de persona que siempre está presente para los demás: siempre escucha, siempre apoya y siempre se preocupa sinceramente por quienes la rodean. Karen tiene una luz especial que eleva a los demás, y su bondad ha tocado más vidas de las que ella podría imaginar. En un momento repentino y devastador, Karen estuvo involucrada en un grave accidente de ATV en México. Tuvo que someterse a una cirugía de emergencia en el cerebro y el cráneo para aliviar toda la inflamación y la presión. Actualmente está luchando con una fuerza increíble para sanar y recuperarse. Sin embargo, debido a esta cirugía cerebral, se encuentra en un coma inducido médicamente y no podrá regresar a casa en avión en el corto plazo. Su familia en casa no puede verla y está esperando pacientemente su recuperación. En este momento, mi mamá y mi hermano menor son los únicos que están físicamente con mi hermana. Solo mi hermano mayor, mi papá y yo estamos en casa esperando su recuperación, esperando recibir actualizaciones por FaceTime o una llamada telefónica. Como su hermana, me duele saber que no puedo estar allí con ella ni hacerle saber que estoy aquí rezando y haciendo todo lo posible por ella; ella es todo para mí y todos la amamos muchísimo. El camino que tiene por delante es largo y desafiante, pero Karen continúa demostrando la misma valentía y determinación que la definen.

Nuestra familia está con el corazón roto, llena de esperanza y eternamente agradecida por todo el amor y apoyo que rodean a Karen. La enorme muestra de cariño nos ha recordado cuán profundamente es amada y lo mucho que significa para tantas personas. Esta recaudación de fondos tiene como propósito ayudar a aliviar la carga económica de su atención médica y recuperación, para que pueda concentrarse plenamente en sanar. Pero como se encuentra en otro país, por lo que sabemos, tenemos que pagar todos los gastos del hospital de nuestro propio bolsillo y no sabemos qué más necesitará por el momento.
