My daughter Danielle and her husband Justin are walking through a diagnosis that has changed everything.

Justin has oral cancer and his glossectomy surgery is scheduled for April 23 at the University of Kentucky Hospital.

The plan is to remove the tumor and all surrounding tissue and a significant amount of lymph nodes from his neck as well to determine if any spread. Justin will spend several days in the hospital, including time in ICU, followed by a challenging recovery as he tackles swallowing, feeding, and speech therapy milestones.

In the middle of all of this and within 3 months, Justin and Danielle are preparing to welcome a new baby, making them a family of 5, which is now also carrying uncertainty as well. As you can imagine, this brings not only emotional strain but financial strain as well. Justin will not be able to work for one month or more during recovery, and time off work will be unpaid. Return to work will be determined by recovery process and any additional treatment needs. At the same time, medical bills continue to grow along with gas, food, and other expenses for traveling to Lexington and being away from home for follow-up appointments.

They have been deeply humbled by the outpouring of love, prayers, and support from so many people. With many unknowns ahead, we wanted to create a simple way for those who have asked to help to come alongside them in a meaningful and practical way. If you feel led to give, share, or pray, it means more than we can fully express. We continue to hold onto hope and trust God through each step, taking things one day at a time.

Thank you for surrounding Danielle, Justin, and their family with love and support.
