Our dear friend, Julia Elena George, has been recently diagnosed with a progressive degenerative disease that, unfortunately, is irreversible.
Julia Elena has been an active leader and member of our community since its early beginnings. Not only is Julia Elena an important organizer, but most of all, she is the most important link with a diverse group of the best Tango instructors around the world. She makes her home the temporary home for all these instructors, who realize the profound love and respect she has for Tango.
Although I met Julia Elena in a Milonga in New York City, by the second tanda we danced, she was already inviting me to come to the DC metro area to join her in her events. Of course, we ended up working together when I decided to move to this town, and ever since, I never stopped hearing about her indefatigable labor of Tango through her organization: Caminto Amigo.
Julia Elena needs our help today to cope with her constant care. She has moved to a special facility, where she receives the care she requires, but there are many expenses to improve her quality of life that her family is battling to cover alone.
We are one family in Tango, and families take care of each other. Please donate today; whatever we can spare is greatly appreciated in this time of crisis.
Thank you in advance for your generosity.
