My name is Sandy and I’m writing for my sister Joyce. On January 26, 2026, she lost her husband Steve unexpectedly. Steve was a truck driver and was in California when he started not feeling well and ultimately passed away due to heart issues related to his pacemaker.

My sister is retired and her only income is monthly social security benefits. She also is a caregiver for her adult son who is paralyzed in a wheelchair. With Steve being the main source of income for the family, my sister Joyce and her son Jonathan truly need help. Joyce has always been the kind of person that helps others. Now it’s our turn to help Joyce through this difficult and scary time, navigating their new normal.
