Life can truly change in an instant. Our hearts are heavy as we share that Jon, age 47, a beloved father of 3 wonderful children, soulmate to Gretchen, and trusted friend of a many, has been diagnosed with stage 4 terminal lung cancer. What started as chest pain and a lingering cough in December 2024 turned into a life-changing and devastating diagnosis that no one is ever prepared to hear.

Anyone who knows Jon knows the incredible, selfless, and humble person he is—always giving, always smiling, always lifting up others and never asking for anything in return.

Since December 2024, Jon has been on a journey of countless weekly if not daily appointments and treatments in Omaha, Nebraska battling for health and hope.

Just two months ago, in May 2025, Jon lost his own father suddenly after a procedure. In addition in the same month, their oldest daughter graduated from high school. She is planning to begin college soon and we are all so proud of her!

The cost of treatment, travel, and time away from work and their children for both Jon and Gretchen has been excruciatingly painful and overwhelming, and no one should have to fight cancer while worrying about finances or deciding how to spend your precious time.
