Hello, my name is John Ricks. I am a 37-year-old father of four children, ages 1, 11, 13, and 17. I work at the Prairieville NHM Walmart and for the East Baton Rouge Parish School System.
On November 15, 2025, while on my lunch break, I was hit by one vehicle and then run over by another in Ascension Parish. Both drivers fled, leaving me seriously injured. I suffered multiple pelvic fractures and a broken ankle and am now on bed rest.
The hardest part has been not being able to be the father my children need. I can’t pick up my one-year-old or interact with my kids the way I used to. I’m unable to work and face ongoing medical care and possible surgery. Any support helps with medical bills and daily expenses as I fight to heal.
