My name is Bárbara, and I am the sister-in-law of Raquel and John.

I am reaching out to ask for help so that Raquel and John can go through this extremely difficult chapter of their lives with a little more peace of mind and without the constant worry of how they will pay their bills.

In October 2023, John was diagnosed with colorectal cancer. Since then, he has been fighting bravely for his life, holding on to the hope of watching his four children grow up and continuing to live his dreams as a husband and father.

In December 2023, John began treatment with chemotherapy and radiation therapy.

In July 2024, he underwent his first surgery to remove the tumor, which required the placement of an ostomy bag.

In November 2024, the bag was removed; however, three new nodules were discovered.

In December 2024, John faced a third surgery, during which his entire intestine was removed, making the ostomy permanent.

More recently, John has also had to adapt to the use of another bag connected to his kidneys, adding yet another challenge to his journey. As if that were not enough, doctors also discovered metastasis to his liver, bringing a new battle to face.

John has been unable to work for over a year due to frequent hospital visits, chemotherapy treatments, surgeries, and ongoing medical care. At this time, all household and family expenses depend on Raquel, who works tirelessly cleaning houses. Every dollar she earns goes directly toward supporting their family and covering essential expenses.

Because of this, I am humbly asking for help. Any contribution, no matter the amount, will make a meaningful difference and help this family continue their fight with dignity, hope, and less financial stress.
