Our friend John has been admitted in the hospital since December 2nd, and has been receiving care there since. He's been in and out of the ICU for acute cirrhosis and hepatic encephalopathy. While in the hospital and unresponsive, his boss fired him. Since then, his wife Dulce has been working tirelessly to provide enough money for their family, including a child of 5. Despite being a manager at a restaurant, John could not get health insurance through work, meaning that all of his treatments before 2026 will be out of pocket. Though John is now insured, only 70% of his treatment going forward will be covered. We want to pitch in however much we can to help the Trussell family deal with the financial burden of this medical emergency.
