Our dear sister and friend Joanna Levine is facing the fight of her life, and she cannot do it alone.

Joanna has been diagnosed with Stage 3 colorectal cancer, and she is now in a race against time to access lifesaving treatment. Her care begins immediately with radiation five days a week for six weeks, followed by intensive chemotherapy infusions, additional scans, and an extended period of healing and recovery.

During treatment, Joanna’s immune system will be severely compromised, making it unsafe for her to work or be in confined spaces around others. The physical, emotional, and financial toll of this diagnosis is overwhelming.

This is why we are asking for help.

For more than 25 years, Joanna has dedicated her life to others. As a visual arts teacher, she has inspired thousands of high school students, mentored college interns, and volunteered tirelessly in her community. Teaching is her purpose, she has always made sure every student felt seen, supported, and encouraged.

Joanna’s passion for nurturing life extends far beyond the classroom. Joanna loves to attend live music events, is an avid gardener and she finds joy outdoors exploring Florida’s parks and springs, drawing inspiration from the natural world she works so hard to protect. She is a dedicated advocate for Florida wildlife and is deeply committed to adopting and caring for senior animals.

Joanna has given so much love, time, and care to the world. Now, she needs support so she can focus on healing without the crushing burden of medical expenses.
