We are raising funds for our friend and colleague Jim Siegel. Jim recently experienced the end of his previous employment. He has been accepted into a Ph.D. program in theology at the University of Dayton, but could use some support during this time of transition. Here are some reflections from Jim:
"It has been a tough year for me since the ending of my previous job and trying to discern next steps while struggling to make ends meet. I have been relying on a food pantry, eating one meal a day, and the generosity of others to help cover what I lacked from the job I had found as a stop gap. Several people in my family, the Xavier community and others have already stepped up, and I am so grateful. I have been really blessed to have the support of a kind community, without whom I could have lost my house. I am so close to getting back on my feet with my new position in the PhD program, but it is a critical time while I look for a part time job that can supplement the income I will receive in the form of the Graduate Assistant stipend. While I search for a part time job that can work around my graduate assistant schedule, I will need some help to get by. Any help is appreciated. I wish I had asked sooner, but I was a little bit embarrassed. You all are always in my prayers!"
