Hi, my name is Jessica. I’m a hardworking, 29 year old waitress in Texas who unfortunately has ran into a huge roadblock in life. I struggled with my alcohol addiction and finally got sober on June 5th, 2025. Although I finally no longer struggle with temptation to drink and keeping a clear head(7 months of blessed sobriety as I’m typing this), the repercussions of my long-term drinking has hit me, and it hit HARD.
I’ve always had back and hip issues, but I just attributed it to constantly being on my feet 6-12 hours a day, 5-6 days a week; until September 17th when I was officially diagnosed with Avascular Necrosis in my hips. Essentially, both of my hips were not getting any blood supply, causing the bone in my hip joints to die and erode away. It’s extremely painful but, without insurance, all I could do is continue to work and hope that I’d be able to find affordable insurance soon. While my jobs have been as accommodating to me as possible, nobody could have prevented the inevitable.
Sunday, December 7th, I took myself to the ER after trying and failing to get another work day started. I couldn’t take more than 4-5 steps without bursting into tears and after a CT scan was preformed, I learned why. Not only has my left hip eroded almost entirely, my right hip bone was completely hollow inside, causing it to break at least a week or two prior. I had no choice: it was time for surgery, whether I had the insurance or not.
I’m only asking for assistance for at least these next few months to be able to afford my bills along with medical equipment for when I’m eventually discharged, Doctor’s appointments and physical therapy/rehabilitation. I also take Venmo, if you prefer(@TawnyRoyal). Anything donated is appreciated, and I thank you for even taking the time to read or spread the word if you cannot donate.
