Just a few weeks ago, Jeff Bycraft of Jackson, Michigan, was diagnosed with an aggressive form of throat cancer that has already spread into his lymph nodes. What started as trouble breathing quickly turned into emergency surgery for a tracheostomy and feeding tube just to keep him alive.

Jeff is the rock of his family — a hardworking small-business owner who started a Home Gutters business with his own two hands, serving families throughout Jackson and surrounding towns for years. He’s always been the kind of person who shows up when someone needs help, never afraid to climb a ladder or lend his time to a neighbor. But now, Jeff can’t work, talk, or eat, and the family’s only source of income has stopped overnight.

Rachel, his partner of 16 years, is doing everything she can — caring for Jeff, keeping their home together, helping with what remains of the business, and raising their kids — all while facing mounting medical bills and a car that’s recently broken down.
