Jamie is one of the most compassionate, resilient, and giving people you could ever meet. As a devoted mother to three wonderful children and a dedicated Master of Social Work student at CSU Stanislaus, she has always balanced the many demands of life with strength, grace, and an unwavering commitment to helping others. For those of us who have the privilege to share our MSW experience as classmates and work with her, she is thoughtful, insightful, and deeply compassionate. Her strength shows no bounds. She is always willing to offer encouragement, compassion, and support to those around her. Jamie embodies what it truly means to be a social worker.

Recently, Jamie was diagnosed with breast cancer and has begun navigating treatment options and planning, all while pursuing her MSW and supporting her children. As a single mother, she is managing medical appointments, treatment planning, school responsibilities, and the everyday needs of her family all at once. She supports her daughter by attending every volleyball game and fundraising efforts with dedication, love, and support for her daughters passion.

Like many families facing a medical diagnosis, there are financial pressures that come with treatment and time away from work and school. Donations from this will help support Jamie and her children with practical needs to cover medical expenses, treatment, appointments, transportation, and general household costs during this straining time.

As social work students, we strive to care for our community, provide mutual support, and show up for one another in real ways. Supporting Jamie during this time is one way we put those values into action—not just in theory, but in how we care for one of our own.
