Jairo Vega is a devoted husband, loving father of two daughters, and a hard-working member of our community.
Originally from Mexico, Jairo has called the United States home for the past 23 years. He built his life here, started his own small construction business, paid his taxes faithfully, and has never had a criminal record. He’s the kind of neighbor and friend that we all want—honest, reliable, and committed to providing for his family.
In November, Jairo‘s life was turned upside down. On his way to a job in Washington DC in October, he was detained by ICE simply for driving his work van and looking Hispanic. He was held in a detention center in New Mexico—thousands of miles away from his wife and daughters—for several months. Jairo was the primary breadwinner for his family, and his sudden detention left them in crisis. Finally, in late January, Jairo was granted bond to come home and await the next steps in this legal debacle.
while reunited with his family, he is now facing mounting legal fees.
This is where we need your help. Every dollar you give will go directly towards Jairo‘s legal defense and help his family cover basic living expenses during this unimaginable ordeal.
Now is the time for us to take action and stand in solidarity with Jairo and his family. Donate today and share this message widely.
