Early this morning, my youngest brother Ivan lost his home in a devastating fire. Thankfully, he made it out of the house unharmed, which we are incredibly grateful for. The fire department believed the fire was fully extinguished shortly after midnight, but tragically it reignited a little after 7:00 a.m. and the home is now a total loss. In a matter of hours, his entire world was turned upside down.

Ivan was only able to grab one item before everything was gone—an antique clock that belonged to our grandparents. Aside from that irreplaceable family heirloom, he lost everything: his clothes, furniture, and all of his personal belongings. He is truly starting over from nothing.

At the moment, Ivan is staying in an Airbnb, but he will need to rebuild his life from the ground up. While he does have insurance, anyone who has gone through this knows that the process takes time, and the immediate expenses add up quickly.

Anyone who knows Ivan knows the kind of person he is. He would give the shirt off his back to help someone in need. He is kind, generous, and deeply caring, and this tragedy has completely rocked his world.
