Isabella, an 11-year-old rockstar who has down syndrome, autism and heart disease will be undergoing an extremely frightening surgery on June 25, 2026 at the children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. The doctors will be performing open heart surgery that they will need to remove a membrane that grew under the aortic valve repairing the narrowing of the valve so blood can flow. They will also be removing scar tissue from her first surgery, which Isabella had to undergo at three months old. The recovery. Will be at least 6 to 8 weeks and this is an extreme hardship on the family. Isabella has two sisters and a brother who will have to also be cared for at home. Besides the emotional stress, the financial burden on this family is just overwhelming. Isabella will be in ICU for a few days and then at least a week at the hospital and will also have significant recovery at home if rehab is not required. Once Isabella is home she will need 24/7 care requiring her parents to have to stay home from work, drive back-and-forth to Philadelphia for check ups, and just do every day life responsibilities for a family with four kids. Bella is so lucky to have such an amazing loving family, and I would love if we could all try to help support them. Besides medical expenses, family expenses add up very quickly at a time like this.
