Hey everyone, as you all know on 7/24/26, Iain suffered from a seizure which resulted in him being transported to the hospital where a 3.6cm mass was located in his right frontal lobe. On 7/27/26, Iain underwent a craniotomy for its removal and thankfully it was a gross total resection! Pathology came back and final diagnosis is Oligodendroglioma, IDH1 R132H mutant, 1p/19q codeleted, WHO Grade 2. Thankfully this is a very very slow growing cancer and responds well to treatment. He will be starting oral medication soon that will block the mutation and keep it from growing any more tumors. The medication is very new but has very good statistics and we are hopeful Iain will be able to live a long fulfilling life. Thankfully he was at the right place at the right time for all of this to happen. As you all know, Iain moved to AZ to start his next chapter as an electrical engineer but was back home on vacation when this all happened. His job has been amazing and he plans on returning to AZ to pick up where he left off. Unfortunately, even with insurance, there is a decent amount of medical bill debt that needs to be paid and he will have to continue being seen every few months for routine follow ups. And the medication is very expensive, again thankfully he has insurance which has been a blessing but he needs assistance with what is left over. Unfortunately Tim and I can’t afford to pay it for him even though we wish we could. Any little bit helps and would be so appreciative. Any amount donated will go directly to Iain to help pay his medical bills. Thank you all so much!
