Help Heather Grove Focus on Healing While Fighting Aggressive Breast Cancer
Hi friends, family, and colleagues. As you know, Heather Grove is a 43-year-old mom of four amazing girls: Grace, Cassidy, Jordynn, and Adi. Two weeks ago, her world flipped upside down when she was diagnosed with aggressive invasive ductal carcinoma that has spread to her lymph nodes. It’s triple-negative breast cancer with a Ki-67 of 80-90% — the doctors have been very clear that this is fast-growing and needs immediate, intensive treatment. The exciting news is that she caught this early and has a chance for a cure.
Heather truly didn’t want us to do anything; as a matter of fact, she is a little uncomfortable with this. That is just who she is. That being said, to know Heather is to love her, and EVERYONE who hears about her situation wants to do something to help. After several discussions with Heather, we determined that the best route would be a GoFundMe. This will allow her to utilize everyone’s generosity in the best way possible for her and her girls.
Heather has always been the one who shows up for everyone else — getting her girls to and from school and sports, working full-time, and still making it to every game that she can, when she isn’t traveling for work. We want to help her stay that mom! The next several months are going to be heavy. Chemotherapy starts soon, followed by surgery and then radiation. And because her diagnosis is triple-negative and so aggressive, treatment options are more limited compared to other breast cancers.
She’s a fighter. She’s already told her oncologist she plans to be here for every milestone her kids have left — high school graduations, weddings, grandbabies.
Nothing is expected, and anything you choose to give is greatly appreciated, including kind words and prayers. Just know that Heather appreciates and cares about each and every one of you. She is forever grateful to have your support while she fights this battle. She is, and always has been, a WARRIOR. Thank you in advance for loving Heather through this journey.
