On Friday, February 27th, Heather Kloman had a stroke. It was primarily due to a Patent Foramen Ovale (PFO), a hole between the left and right atria (upper chambers) of the heart; this hole exists in everyone before birth, but most often closes shortly after being born. It’s believed that this is where the blood clot(s) formed that went up to her brain.

Heather spent four days in the hospital. While physically fine, about a third of the right side of her brain (which is actually the left side in the attached photo) was damaged. Her short-term memory and vision, peripheral and otherwise, have been affected. Because of this, she can't currently drive… and, being an in-home dog trainer, if she can't drive, she can't work.

We have no idea if or when her vision and memory will improve; medical and prescription bills will pile up quickly, along with everyday costs like mortgage, gas and electric, etc. Since Heather and her fiancée Eric are both self-employed, their Marketplace insurance leaves something to be desired. They are now down to one income and unfortunately could use a little help.
