Standing with Griffin: Help for the Sommer Family
Donation protected
On the evening of Thursday, April 3rd, at approximately 8:21 pm, our dear friend and longtime Hill Country Community Theatre volunteer Griffin Sommer was struck by a vehicle at the intersection of U.S. Highway 281 and Third Street in Marble Falls. Griffin was rushed to Dell Seton Medical Center in Austin, where he has remained in critical condition. The prognosis is devastating, and our hearts are broken.
Daniel and I have been in close contact with Griffin’s mother, and it’s clear that the family is now facing the unimaginable. We are creating this GoFundMe to help ease the heavy financial burden they are carrying—medical bills, lodging, lost wages, and whatever else they may need in this heartbreaking time. No family should have to go through something like this alone.
We met Griffin in the winter of 2022 when he came to audition for Tuna Christmas. While he wasn’t cast in the show, Daniel invited him to join the tech crew. From that moment on, Griffin became a part of our theatre family. Over the past two years, we watched him grow from a quiet crew member into a confident and passionate performer, most recently appearing as one of the Toadies in A Christmas Story. His kindness, enthusiasm, and generosity of spirit have touched everyone who crossed his path.
Griffin has the warmest heart and a soul full of light. He has always been the first to offer a helping hand, and now it’s our turn to show up for him and his family. If you’re able, please consider making a donation. Every little bit helps. And if you’re not in a position to give, we ask that you share this campaign and keep Griffin and his family in your thoughts and prayers.
