Standing with Gregg Through His Healing Journey

On August 29, 2025, Gregg was at his job at a big box home improvement store when he was seriously injured in a workplace accident. A lumber cart full of over 2000 lbs of lumber shifted, flipping the cart and its contents onto his right leg, crushing the lower leg and shattering the ankle. He was rushed to the Hurley Medical Center Trauma Unit where it was determined that he had an open fracture of the tibia and fibula, as well as a pilon fracture of the ankle. Gregg had external fixation surgery the next day to hold the bones in place to wait for the next operation which, due to other emergencies at the facility, he had to wait over 2 weeks for. At that point, a metal rod was put in through the knee with 3 plates and 15 screws in his leg and ankle. He was then released and in a wheelchair for 3 weeks, in extreme pain and unable to care for himself. While Gregg has a great support system in his fiancé Beth, family and friends, he has been unable to work, his savings are rapidly diminishing, and the amount he is receiving from workman's comp doesn't cover even his basic expenses, which is why we are reaching out for help. While Gregg is on the path to recovery and working his physical therapy, he is scared of what the long term implications will be on his life, the uncertainty of his future, his ability to walk, and to provide for himself and his family.

Gregg is a hard-working young man who struggles with asking for assistance, and this has put much strain on him both physically and mentally. Unfortunately, his employer has not reached out in any significant way, and his employment is uncertain at this point. Your financial support would go towards his medical bills, therapy and essential expenses while he recovers. Any contribution will have a meaningful impact for Gregg and his family toward stability, healing and helping him regain his sense of self.

In Gregg's words "To whomever reads this, if it touches you or you can relate and can help or support me in any way, I would greatly appreciate it. This has been a very hard path for me and my family and I just want us to come out of this together and healthy."
