On May 30, 20-year-old Grace Thacker was in a tragic accident and suffered severe head trauma. She was life flighted to Evansville, where she underwent surgery to help reduce the pressure on her brain.

Grace remains in an induced coma while her brain is given time to rest and heal. Her vital signs are strong, and we are holding tightly to hope, faith, and prayer as she continues this fight.

Grace is from Mt. Carmel, Illinois, and is deeply loved by her family and friends. She has been described by those who know her best as quiet, sweet, and funny. She loves her family big, loves to laugh, and brings joy to the people who know and love her.

Her parents, Tim and Heather Thacker, have been by Grace’s side since the moment this happened, and they remain there with her every day. Right now, they are exactly where they need to be: beside their daughter, praying over her, loving her, and waiting with hope.

Because of this, Tim and Heather have not been able to work. As any parent can imagine, leaving Grace’s side is simply not an option. In addition to the emotional weight this family is carrying, they are now facing lost income, travel expenses, meals, medical costs, household bills, and the many future unknowns that come with a long recovery.

Grace also has three siblings who love her dearly, and this has deeply affected the entire Thacker family.

We are organizing this GoFundMe to help ease the financial burden on Tim and Heather so they can focus on what matters most right now: being with Grace.
