Gianna is 15 years old. About a month ago, Gianna was at a basketball game and hurt her knee. Just about a week ago, she went and got an MRI and found out she has a tumor in her knee that has been there for 3-5 months and it’s definitely bone cancer. Just a few days later, she and her family went to another doctor's appointment and discussed everything. Then she had to get a biopsy on her knee and do an upper half body scan. Gianna has lung cancer along with bone cancer in her knee. Gianna has to do 3-6 months of chemotherapy, then get her surgery to get the cancer removed, and after that, another 6-9 months of chemotherapy. She has to travel to Boston to get a second opinion after getting her first round of chemotherapy. Her mother is a single mom and will be missing a lot of work due to traveling and all the appointments.
Right now, times are very hard with everything. Anything will help.
