Anyone who knows my father knows his character. He has always been a family man who worked for years at the same job, cared deeply for his children and grandchildren, and helped others whenever he could. This situation is extremely difficult for our family, especially because my father has health issues and needs proper care and strong legal representation.

 My father has worked the same job since he was 19 years old and bought his home in 1996. He has always been someone who takes care of his family. When his wife Salita and her children were going through hard times and living in a homeless shelter, my father opened his home to them and helped take care of them for years. Many of her children and even grandchildren lived in his home at different times without paying rent. A few years ago my father traveled out of town for a funeral after his niece passed away. During that time he was encouraged to stay longer. When he returned home, many of his belongings were gone and his wife and her children had moved out. For years after that she rarely came around and spoke negatively about my father to other family members. Less than a year ago she returned to his home saying she was struggling where she was living and needed help again. Since that time my father’s health has not been the same. My father has lived with epilepsy his entire life and has suffered many seizures. Recently he has been having more seizures and memory problems, which has been very difficult for him and for our family. What hurts the most is seeing people try to portray my father as a monster. Anyone who truly knows him knows he has always been a family man who helps others, even people who have hurt him. Our family is still dealing with an ongoing legal situation, so I can’t speak about everything publicly. But I can say that my father deserves fairness and the full story to be heard. I ask people not to rush to judgment and to remember that there are always multiple sides to every situation. I’m aware of the fundraiser being shared and the statements being made about my father, Gary Lover High Sr. Because there is an ongoing legal case, I cannot discuss details publicly. What I will say is that many claims being circulated do not reflect the full history of what our family has experienced. My father has always been someone who worked hard and helped family members in need for many years.
