At the end of May last year, Gabe’s life changed in an instant. What seemed like a simple cough turned into something far more serious. By June, he was diagnosed with cancer.
Since then, everything has shifted. Gabe’s days are now filled with blood tests, scans, doctor visits, medications, chemotherapy, and bone marrow transplants. It’s an intense and exhausting cycle—but through it all, his faith in God and the love and support of his family and friends have carried him. He has not faced this battle alone.
Gabe’s treatment process is incredibly demanding. It consists of four straight days of 24-hour chemotherapy, followed by a bone marrow transplant on the fifth day, then 21 days of recovery—before starting the cycle again. During this time, he must stay close to Stanford for weeks at a time, away from home, with 24/7 care. Each day requires strength, rest, and resilience just to keep going.
While Gabe has shown incredible courage in choosing to fight, this journey has come with great sacrifice for his family. His wife has taken significant time off work to be by his side every step of the way. His mother and brother take turns caring for him, and family and friends have stepped in to help keep life as normal as possible for their daughters.
Along with the physical and emotional toll, this journey has created a heavy financial burden. What was once a dual-income household is now reduced to one. Even with insurance, the costs of treatment, travel, temporary housing near the hospital, and everyday living expenses continue to add up.
If you feel led to support Gabe and his family during this time, any contribution—big or small—will go directly toward these essential needs and help ease the burden as they focus on his healing.
We are holding onto God’s promise in this season: “Be strong and courageous… for the Lord your God goes with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you.” — Deuteronomy 31:6
On behalf of Gabe and his family, thank you for your prayers, love, and support. It truly means more than words can express.
