In February 2024, Fred started to lose weight and not being able to keep anything in. He had a upper and lower scope completed, in which they advised that there was nothing found. Problem wasn't solved, Fred gave up and just dealt with it.
In February 2025, after years and years of back pain, Fred went and got a stimulator put into his lower back. Fred's stomach issues intensified and we thought it was due to the new stimulator. A couple months later, they did an MRI to ensure that everything with the stimulator was in place. No issues except the ongoing weight loss.
In February/March 2026 , Fred's weight loss really intestified and he started to get stomach cramps, weak legs, and continuous weight loss along with throwing up.
March 30th, Fred went to a new family doctor and they immediately knew something was wrong. Blood work showed some elevated levels but EKG was normal. On April 7th, Fred attended a GI referral and was scheduled for another upper and lower scope. On April 8th, Fred had a CT scan. GI appointment on April 9th, showed blockage due to something pushing on the small intestine and they couldn't complete the lower scope. On April 10th, CT scan showed two masses. One mass was over 4inches and was encased in other items such aorta, celiac band, and arteries. The other mass was in between his lungs.
Fred will be admitted to Baptist hospital on Aprin 13th. Due to the unforseen medical expenses along with loss of income, we are asking for some assistance with the finances of everything. I also have a consult at Levine Cancer Center this month to have a lump removed and properly tested due to the biopsy showing "too active".
