Thank you ahead of time for reading the Liebel family’s story. We appreciate any support you are able to share, and for sending along to spread the word in our community.

Adriana, a hospice nurse, and Noah, a veteran and employee of the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, joyfully welcomed their third daughter on March 28th. Frances “Frankie” Elinor peacefully arrived, healthy and ready to meet her oldest sister, Vivian. Shortly after bringing their bundle of joy home, Adriana and Noah noticed some concerning symptoms that Frankie was experiencing. After a sudden admission to Maine Medical Center PICU, they witnessed Frankie fight to stabilize, and waited patiently as medical providers narrowed down the underlying medical issue. Frankie was airlifted to Boston Children’s Hospital this past Sunday night, and fortunately, doctors were able to target the source of her sickness. Through extensive testing and MRI scanning, doctors found multiple clusters of infected bacterial cysts on Frankie’s neck and chest. She underwent a surgery on Monday, in which doctors successfully drained the cysts.

Adriana and Noah are grateful beyond words that Frankie’s team of doctors are confident in her recovery. With this said, they continue to feel angst and nervousness as to what is to come. Tragically, Adriana and Noah lost their second-born daughter, Leona Frances, on Christmas Eve 2024. Leona passed away at just five days of life, following Adriana’s traumatic preterm labor. As the hole in their hearts have not even begun to heal from their loss of Leona, they are now undertaking their journey of fighting for and supporting Frankie through her sickness and recovery.

The extent of Frankie’s stay at Boston Children’s Hospital is still to be determined. The team of Boston Children’s doctors have expressed Frankie’s suddenness and severity of sickness is very rare for an infant, and her future health issues and road to recovery still remain unknown. The days of Adriana and Noah’s paternal leaves are dwindling, and expenses for staying in Boston have quickly added up already. Adriana and Noah, two of the proudest and strongest people we know, are not quick to ask for help. On their behalf, we are asking for our community’s support to come together, and help to alleviate the financial burden they will be undertaking throughout this journey. This will allow them to focus their resources and energy on Frankie’s recovery.

We’re grateful for your consideration to donate, and send peace and health to you and yours.
