Last week, four reporters and Fort Worth NewsGuild members were laid off by the Star-Telegram's parent company, McClatchy, as part of a massive company-wide culling of journalists .

This layoff will leave our already small newsroom even weaker, with fewer resources to cover the rapidly growing Fort Worth region.

By the end of September, these four reporters — a local news reporter, a service journalism reporter, a suburbs reporter, and a digital sports reporter — will lose their jobs.
