My name is Rebecca, and I’ve had the privilege of calling Erika my best friend for 26 years. She has always been the one who shows up for others—steady, generous, and fiercely loving, especially toward her daughter, Aubrey Lee.
Six months ago, when Erika was first diagnosed with aggressive intestinal cancer, a dear friend started a GoFundMe that gave her a lifeline. Thanks to the incredible kindness of so many of you, those funds carried her through the early months of treatment and helped keep a roof over their heads. We will never be able to thank you enough for that support—it truly made a difference when everything felt impossible.
But cancer doesn’t pause, and neither do the bills. Erika is now deep into an intensive and highly invasive chemotherapy regimen. The side effects have been brutal; she is extremely ill most days and simply cannot work. Returning to her job is no longer an option for the foreseeable future. Disability assistance barely covers their rent, leaving little to nothing for utilities, groceries, basic clothing and toiletries, or the many medical expenses insurance doesn’t cover.
Erika’s greatest fear has never been the treatment itself—it’s the thought of not being able to provide stability and security for Aubrey Lee while she fights to survive.
We are reaching out again because the need is urgent. Every day brings new challenges, and the previous funds have now been exhausted keeping them afloat. We’re asking for your help once more to cover:
• Essential living expenses (rent gap, utilities, food, clothing, and toiletries)
• Uncovered medical costs and supportive care during this grueling phase of treatment
• Basic stability so Erika can focus entirely on healing
If you gave before, please know your earlier gift helped get her to this point—we are forever grateful. If you’re able to give again, or if you’re seeing this for the first time, any amount makes a real difference. If you can’t donate right now, sharing this page with your network means the world—Erika and Aubrey truly need their village right now.
Thank you for reading, for caring, and for being part of their story. With love and gratitude,
Rebecca (on behalf of Erika & Aubrey Lee
