Update 3/23:
As many of you know, Eric is currently on a difficult journey toward recovery. We want to clarify that this isn't a standard heart attack or stent placement scenario. Eric has had an ICD (Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator) placed—a 'shock box' in his chest—which changes everything.
Because he cannot exert his heart, Eric is strictly unable to work for the next 3 months while we wait for medical clearance. Beyond that, he faces a permanent lifestyle shift to ensure his heart remains stable. His partner has been his full time care taker, not leaving his side-administering medications, making sure he gets to his follow up appointments and keeping him comfortable.
With the loss of income for these 3+ months, the mounting medical bills and basic living costs have become a heavy burden. We are reaching out to our community for help to cover:
• Immediate Living Expenses: Rent, utilities, and groceries while he is unable to work.
• Medical Bills: Costs for the ICD procedure, follow-up specialist appointments, and necessary medications.
• Lifestyle Adjustments: Support as Eric adapts to his new physical limitations and health requirements.
Any contribution, no matter the size, helps lift the weight off Eric’s shoulders so he can focus entirely on healing. If you aren't able to donate, simply sharing this link or sending a prayer is massively appreciated during this lifestyle change.
Update 3/19:
Nearly Two weeks ago, Eric’s world changed in an instant. Since that day, every moment has been a testament to his resilience and faith.
After finally being discharged from the hospital, Eric faced a heartbreaking setback when he had to make a return to the ER, luckily that was a short visit minor internal bleeding being monitored. While he is back home now, the road to recovery is steep. Nights are the hardest; rest is elusive when every movement is a reminder of the trauma his body has endured. Between the swelling and the pain of his incisions, even a 5-minute walk across the room is a hard-won victory.
Despite the physical toll, Eric’s spirit remains unbroken. He is already looking toward a future where he can work again—though it will have to be a 'new normal' without heavy lifting or stress on his heart. With at least 6-8 weeks of recovery ahead, the financial weight is heavy. If you can, please help us carry this burden for him so he can focus entirely on healing. Prayers, donations, and shares all mean the world to us.
On March 7, 2026, what started as a typical day of dirt biking in Tripp Canyon with his sons took a life-threatening turn for Eric. While helping his 14-year-old son reposition a bike on a steep hillside, Eric suddenly became dizzy and lost consciousness.
Thanks to the incredible composure of his son, who called 911 and guided rescuers to their exact location, help arrived quickly. However, the rescue was anything but simple. Eric was 300 feet up a near-vertical hillside. It took a massive, coordinated effort from regional rope rescue teams, the Chelan County Sheriff’s Office, and multiple fire departments to safely lower him down and get him to Central Washington Hospital.
The Medical Reality:
While we are eternally grateful that Eric is still with us, the road ahead is steep. After a battery of intensive tests and procedures, it has been confirmed that Eric is facing a serious heart-related condition. The medical bills for the specialized rope rescue, the UTV transport, the ambulance, and the ongoing hospital care are mounting daily.
A Life-Altering Change:
The hardest part of this journey is the reality of Eric’s recovery. As a dedicated contractor, welder, and diver, Eric’s livelihood has always depended on his physical strength and ability to work in demanding environments. Due to the nature of his condition, he will no longer be able to return to these trades. This is a devastating blow for a man who has always provided for his family through hard, skilled labor.
How You Can Help:
We are reaching out to our community to help Eric and his family navigate this transition. Your donations will go directly toward:
Covering the extensive medical expenses and specialized rescue costs.
Paying for the ongoing tests and cardiac procedures required for his treatment.
Assisting the family with living expenses as Eric transitions out of his career as a contractor and welder.
A Note of Thanks:
Eric, his significant other Ashleigh and his children Kaelyn, Kohen, Kane, Grayson and Merrick are overwhelmed by the outpouring of love they have already received. They want to extend their deepest gratitude to the first responders who saved Eric’s life and to everyone who has sent well wishes. Your support—whether through a donation, taking a moment to say a prayer or simply sharing this page—means the world to them during this incredibly difficult time.
