Help Us Support Eloy Avilla III’s Road to Recovery
I never imagined I would find myself creating a GoFundMe for my nephew, Eloy Avila III— but today I am doing this out of love for my brother and my sister-in-law, for their one and only son (my only nephew), as they have always tried to carry all this weight on their own. With a heavy but hopeful heart, I’m reaching out to ask for your support during this incredibly
difficult time our family is facing.
My nephew, Eloy Avila III, has lived with a serious heart condition since the day he was born. In his short life, he has already faced challenges that many of us may never experience. His entire childhood has been consumed by endless specialist visits, constant monitoring, and long trips— to Houston, and even as far as Pittsburgh—as we’ve chased every possible treatment and prayed for a miracle.
Recently, Eloy III suffered a severe case of pneumonia that sent him to the ICU for 28 terrifying days. The sudden crisis challenged our family deeply, pushing all of us to lean even more on God’s strength. Though it tested us physically, emotionally, and mentally, our faith has remained firm, guiding us through every moment. Although we thank God every day for the healing that has begun, the journey ahead is long and ongoing. His recovery will require continued care, frequent appointments and travel to Houston, and all of the expenses that come with ongoing treatment.
Our family has always believed in serving the community and being there for others whenever possible. Today, we are humbled to ask for that same support in return. Anyone who knows us knows that asking for help does not come easily. But I have witnessed their struggle up close, and I can no longer just watch and stay silent. As Eloy’s aunt, I have seen firsthand the emotional and financial toll this has taken on my brother and my sister-in-law. Both have been out of work due to Eloy’s hospitalization, and the weight of medical bills, travel costs, and lost income has become overwhelming.
Eloy has been a beacon of hope in our family. Despite the many medical challenges he has faced, he remains strong, funny, and optimistic. He has missed out on many of the simple joys of childhood because of his hospital stays, yet he continues to push forward with bravery. His journey reminds us daily that no child should have to endure so much — and no family should have to carry the full weight alone during a medical emergency. As his aunt and as a sister, my hope is simply to make things a little lighter for my brother so that he and my sister-in-law can devote all their energy towards Eloy’s healing without ever having to worry about how they’ll pay for the next appointment, the next treatment, or the next trip to Houston.
Unfortunately, many more of those lie ahead.
From the bottom of my heart, I ask for your help in easing the financial strain that comes with long-term medical care. Any contribution — no matter the size — is received with gratitude. If you are unable to donate please know that your prayers, kind thoughts, or simply sharing this campaign are also a powerful gift.
The funds raised will help cover essential needs, including:
• Ongoing hospital and medical expenses
• Continued treatments and necessary medications
• Critical living costs such as lodging, groceries, and travel as
Eloy receives care at Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston.
Thank you for standing with our family during this time. Your kindness, prayers, and support bring us strength and hope. Together, we believe Eloy will continue to heal, grow, and overcome. Your generosity and prayers are truly a blessing, and we are deeply grateful.
