My name is Tammie Broadway, Dillon Fuller’s mom. My son, Dillon Fuller, was suffering from a headache on Friday that quickly turned into a trip to the ER on Saturday, where he was given some medication to help stop his headache and then sent home in Alabama. On Sunday, things took a turn for the worse, and he ended up going by ambulance again to the ER. They quickly assessed him and determined that he needed to be immediately transferred to Vanderbilt Medical Center in Tennessee.
As some of you know, when Dillon was young, he had a bike wreck which discovered that he had hydrocephalus, which is excess fluid on the brain. In 2009, he had to have a shunt placed in his brain to help drain off the fluid, something that changed his life and that he will live with forever. On Sunday, when he was transported to Vanderbilt Medical Center, it was discovered that his shunt was malfunctioning, and he had to have immediate surgery. They had to replace a valve and all the tubing. He is now recovering and doing well, but in pain and looking at a very long road ahead.
As many of you know, Dillon is married to Clair. They have two beautiful children, Emilia, 3 years old, and Madelyn, 11 months old.
So I’m reaching out to all family and friends and anyone that knows my amazing so. and his family to help support him and his family in this time of need. Whether you can help financially, with supportive thoughts and prayers, by bringing meals, or whatever God leads your heart to do, I ask that we come together once again for him and his family to show them love and support.
For Dillon and his family, recovering from just the incisions is the easy part, as recovering from all the other things that come along with brain surgery, making sure his shunt is functioning properly, etc., is going to be many months of recovery.
So once again, I’m just asking whatever God leads your heart to do to help support my son and his family in their time of need would not only be a blessing to him and his family, but a blessing to all of us who love, care, and support Dillon through this difficult time.
Much love and many blessings to everyone,
