Hi friends and family,
I’m writing this on behalf of the Jacobson family — Seth, Kim, Spencer (18), Reid (12), and most importantly, Delaney — a girl who means so much to all of us.
What started as a simple stomachache in July 2025, led to surgery and the discovery of a nearly six-inch mass in Delaney’s abdomen. Doctors found cancerous cells, which required another major surgery this week (February) and has now resulted in an aggressive treatment plan that includes chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and radiation. Delaney has a rare form of cancer - in the neuroblastoma family - that not many oncologists are familiar with, making this journey even more complex and overwhelming. Her home in Mukilteo is an hour away from Seattle Children’s Hospital, adding travel and lodging challenges to an already difficult situation.
News like this is devastating at any age, but especially for someone as young, vibrant, and full of life as Delaney. She has already endured invasive testing and two major surgeries with long recoveries, and the hardest part of treatment is still ahead. Her positive outlook and ability to rise to these next challenges is admirable. For all that she's been through, she is already one of the strongest 15-year-olds that we know.
While the Jacobsons do have insurance, many costs will not be covered — including additional treatment expenses, medical bills, time off work, travel, meals, and recovery-related needs. The financial strain adds another heavy burden to a family focused entirely on helping Delaney heal and rest.
Delaney is a sophomore at Kamiak, a playful and loving sister, artist, best Speed (card game) player, a lively friend, generous, and someone whose smile truly brightens a room. She loves to laugh and be with the people she cares about. Her presence brings joy to all those around her. This page is dedicated to uplifting her spirit and supporting her family so she can focus fully on healing. No contribution is too small, and every act of kindness helps lighten the road ahead.
If it’s in your heart to share this page to others, donate, and keep the Jacobsons in your prayers, we are deeply grateful. We believe the strength of community — a message, a call, or a gift — will help carry them through this long journey.
Thank you for loving Delaney and standing with her in this fight.
