My name is Teresa Whittaker and I am a parent of a student who had Megan Kilbane as her teacher. Ms Kilbane quickly became a student favorite at our small school at St Joseph Parish. She navigated my daughter and others in the class in positive ways to help them grow. She often had her daughter, Delaney with her at events. She quickly became a beloved “little sister “ to my daughter and my daughter’s classmates. Payton would often come home to tell stories of Delaney’s cuteness as she was just a toddler. Delaney has epilepsy. Students and parents alike were aware. Delaney had terrible seizures on Sunday night 2/22 and was admitted to ICU. Her brain has swelling and is on life support. During this time, Delaney’s extended family through the school talked about how we can help. Being a teacher at a small school doesn’t always afford a parent the financial means to be able to have time off for a sick child. Especially one with such a heart breaking medical emergency. News has not been good. And as a small community and a community of faith, we wanted to make sure Delaney’s parents and younger brother, have what they need should they need time away from work. We do not know what is in store for Delaney and her parents at this time. We are praying for a miracle. So what we are hoping is that we can give them peace, no matter what comes, that they have no worries for bills and the time they will need moving forward. We ask for prayers for this beautiful sunshine of a child. We ask prayers for mom, Dad and her little brother. We ask for prayers the students who truly grown to love her and her family. We ask to donate anything you can to help them through this terrible time and give them some peace and a small amount of mercy.
These donation will be used to help the family with expenses related to hospital bills, funeral expenses and bills to be paid during time away to grieve.
