Standing with Darrin & Harmony White
Hi friends & family: Darrin & Harmony need us! It has been a rough couple of years for Darrin. God is so good - he has brought him through so much and has done miracles. But Darrin continues to face challenges. If you feel led, please donate to help them. Anything you can give helps!
We are stronger together and can help them get through this difficult time.
Here is the latest update:
Darrin continues with infusions of the new medication he started mid-March in addition to all his regular chemo (oral & infusion) along with his other list of meds. He will be going in for the third dose in a couple weeks. The oncologist said he would like to repeat brain scans after the fourth dose. He stated that if this new medicine was going to help, results would likely be seen pretty quickly on the scans. We have not noticed much difference in Darrin’s symptoms with the new treatment.
Darrin will not be returning to work, and this has been a difficult transition for our family. He has been approved for disability benefits. Please pray for us as we navigate all the details of being a single-income family over these next several months until disability takes effect. It is a bit overwhelming, but as God settles our anxious hearts, He continually reminds us of His promises to meet ALL our needs and that He is our Provider. He ALWAYS comes through!!
Darrin is settling in to a routine at home, but he grieves the loss of his job, his patients, his boss, and his coworkers. He enjoyed his career, he cared deeply for his patients, he felt a sense of purpose helping others, and he was truly delighted regarding his work relationships. Please pray for his heart in this season of letting go.
Darrin’s speech, cognitive function, and mobility have all slowly declined these past couple months. He has pain off and on. We did get him some new wheels - a motorized scooter so he can keep up with us at Caden’s soccer and baseball games. We were even able to go around the block together as a family for the first time in a long time! He uses it for longer distances so he doesn’t tire so quickly.
Thank you for continuing to lift up our family in prayer during this LONG season and as we constantly adapt to these new “normals.” We are so grateful for our community. Life would not be the same without you. THANK YOU.
“And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus.”
