My name is Danielle. I am 31 years young, I have had 4 strabismus eye surgeries (2 on each eye), I also have 7 white matter lesions in my brain. I applied for disability as its been confirmed by multiple doctors and physical therapists that I physically cannot work due to my eyes. Disability denied me the first time after 10 months and their reasoning from their own representative was that it looked "sketchy" because nobody even contacted my doctors or did any research before making a decision. I've been waiting for disability for over a year and the amount of anxiety and stress they have caused me is only making my migraines and eye problems so much worse. Right now I’m going through one of the hardest periods of my life, and asking for help is not easy for me. But I’m doing my best to stay afloat while navigating serious health and financial challenges.
Over the past few years I’ve been dealing with ongoing medical issues that have made it pretty much impossible to work consistently. I’ve had multiple eye surgeries for strabismus and continue to deal with complications and recovery. On top of that, I suffer from severe chronic migraines that require ongoing treatment and medication.
Because of my health, I had to stop working and I’m currently in the process (so far it's been 14 months) of trying to get approved for disability. I’m still waiting for my hearing which they told me it could take another 7 months on top of the 14 I've already waited, and the process has been extremely long and stressful. While I’m doing everything I can to get through it, the bills unfortunately don’t stop while I wait.
My basic monthly expenses are around $2,200, which includes:
• Rent
• Car payment
• Car insurance
• Utilities
• Medical expenses and medications
• Basic living costs
Right now I’m struggling to keep up with these expenses while waiting for my disability case to move forward. I’ve been trying to manage everything the best I can, but the financial pressure on top of everything else is slowly destroying me.
Any support, no matter the amount, would go directly toward keeping a roof over my head, maintaining my transportation, and covering essential bills while I work through the disability process and focus on my health.
Even if you aren’t able to donate, sharing this page would mean the world to me. Thank you for taking the time to read my story and for any kindness or support during such a difficult time in my life.
I’m incredibly grateful for every bit of help and encouragement.
