Hello everyone,
My name is Elaine, me and several others got together and wrote this campaign on Daniel’s behalf.
We want to share who he is as a person and what he has been facing recently.
Growing up with Daniel Rojas has been a blessing. He has always been kind, loving, and generous even when he had very little himself. Even in his hardest moments, he continues to care deeply for others. He has poured into people when his own cup was empty. Now he is the one who truly needs support.
Daniel has been diagnosed with POTS, which stands for Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome. It is a disorder of the autonomic nervous system that affects blood circulation and heart rate. When he stands up, his heart rate increases abnormally fast and his body struggles to regulate blood flow properly. This can cause anything from dizziness, chest pain, shortness of breath, brain fog, severe fatigue, and weakness. Simple tasks like standing, walking, or even showering can trigger intense symptoms and leave him drained from anywhere for hours or days. It is unpredictable and has made daily life extremely difficult. On top of that, he is experiencing additional unexplained health issues that specialists are still trying to diagnose. The uncertainty has been overwhelming. Doctors still do not fully understand why his body reacts the way it does. Because of his health, it has become nearly impossible for him to maintain steady employment.
He is currently waiting for SSI approval while also trying to access advanced medical care at UCLA or Cedars Sinai in Los Angeles for proper testing and answers. He is not looking for sympathy. He is looking for real solutions and thorough medical care. For too long, he has felt dismissed and overlooked while trying to advocate for his health.
Recently, his situation became even more difficult. He has even had to sell personal belongings just to cover basic necessities. To make matters worse, his previous fundraiser was hacked and we had to start over with a new secure one. If you have seen older links, please disregard them.
Despite everything, Daniel remains one of the most loyal, hardworking, and compassionate people we know and it beyond pains us and makes us beyond hurt and frustrated because Daniel does not deserve to go though any of this. Many of you have seen in the past how he shows up for others during their lowest moments. Now he needs his community to show up and back him up. Daniel has endured more than most people know and he has carried it quietly for a very long time. If you are able to donate, even a small amount would make a meaningful difference. If you cannot donate, sharing this or keeping him in your prayers means more than you realize. Thank you for taking the time to read this. God bless you.
