Earlier this year, my brother suddenly lost vision in one eye. What began as a diagnosis of non-arteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy has quickly become something far more uncertain.

Follow-up MRI results and specialist reviews have raised concerns that he may instead be facing an autoimmune or demyelinating condition including the possibility of Multiple Sclerosis (MS).

Although his vision will never return to 100%, there is a chance it may improve over the coming months. But right now, he is still in the middle of a long and complex diagnostic process. Nothing is confirmed yet, and he requires more testing, specialist input, and ongoing reviews to get the clarity he urgently needs.

With neurological and autoimmune conditions, early answers matter.

The sooner we understand what he is dealing with, the sooner he can begin the right treatments and avoid preventable progression.

Funds raised will go towards:

-Travel for specialist appointments

-Accommodation during out-of-town assessments

-Private neurology consultations

-A possible second opinion overseas

-Diagnostic testing not covered publicly

-Ongoing medical expenses during this process

This journey has been physically and emotionally draining for him, and the financial pressure only makes it harder. He wants to be proactive, seek answers, and make informed decisions about his health not sit and wait while his symptoms worsen.
