If you know Marnie, you know she can find humor in just about anything.
While most people would be overwhelmed by the challenges her family has faced this past year, Marnie somehow still manages to crack a joke about free hospital parking, a “$50,000 haircut,” and surviving on a bedside-vigil diet. It’s one of the many things that makes her so remarkable.
Behind that humor, though, is a family facing an incredibly difficult journey.
Dan, a devoted husband and father to Roman, Wyatt, and Grant, has been courageously battling cancer while also managing Type 1 diabetes. Recently, his cancer spread to his brain, leading to surgery and a lengthy stay in the Neuro ICU. Through every setback, every procedure, and every impossible day, Dan has continued to fight with determination and strength.
At the same time, Marnie has been doing what Marnie does best—showing up. She has been balancing hospital visits, work, parenting three boys, managing their home, and carrying the countless responsibilities that come with keeping a family moving forward during a crisis.
Anyone who knows this family knows they are not the type to ask for help. But right now, they deserve to be surrounded by the same love and support they have given so many others.
This fundraiser has been created to help ease the financial burden of medical expenses, travel, lost work time, household costs, and the many unexpected challenges that come with a prolonged hospitalization and cancer treatment.
Most importantly, it will allow Marnie and Dan to focus on what matters most: healing, spending time together, and supporting Roman, Wyatt, and Grant through the days ahead.
If you are able to contribute, thank you. If not, please consider sharing this page and keeping Dan, Marnie, and their boys in your thoughts and prayers.
As Marnie herself said, Dan isn’t much up for talking or texting right now, but he will always take the prayers.
