Help Me Help My Hero!

My name is Emma, and I am writing this with a heart full of gratitude. Recently, my dear friend Cristian Jovel did the unthinkable: he saved my life by donating one of his kidneys for me through an exchange program. Because of his selfless act, I will have a second chance at a healthy life.

While I am now fast-tracked to find a match of my own, Cris is facing a different challenge. As a self-employed Dental Assistant, he does not have access to traditional disability benefits or paid leave.

Doctors expect his recovery to take roughly two months. During this time, he is strictly prohibited from heavy lifting and strenuous activity, which are essential to his livelihood. Without the ability to work, the financial stress of mortgage, bills, and everyday expenses is weighing heavily on him and his wife, Diana.

My goal is to raise $10k so he can focus entirely on healing without worrying about how to keep the lights on. Every dollar raised will go directly toward:

• Replacing two months of lost income.

• Covering basic living expenses (mortgage, utilities, groceries).

• Any unexpected post-op medical or transportation costs.
