- My name is Cheri Vassel. My son Craig is 56 years old and has been diagnosed with Cancer of the blood (MDS). He will be admitted into U of M hospital as soon as we find a donor. Craig will be in the hospital for one month to prepare for a bone marrow transplant. Then When he comes home, he will not be able to return to work for one year.
Craig's wife is a teacher, and they share two teen-aged children who all rely on Craig's support. They will not be able to maintain their home on one income, and the financial stress will hurt Craig's chances for recovery. We are asking for help to cover medical expenses not covered by insurance and expensive medications he will need during his year of recovery. Any contribution is appreciated.
